Well has I posted before Day 1 saw us head off to Agnes Water, which most might know as 1770, they are 2 separate towns but very close together.
We where greeted by this view, and had a lovely 4 days unwining from a huge year.
People that know me via my old blog or Facebook will remember our last holiday was spent in ICU with our Son who tragically got a Spinal abscess and spent the following 3 months in hospital recovering the movement in his legs. This trip was much needed and well earned by everyone, most of all my Husband who works hard to provide for his family.
Nudgy loves rocks, and we had lots of fun taking these photo’s of him and his sister Miss Katie.
I love Sunsets so they will factor a bit over the next few weeks and I try to capture one in each of our locations (finding that is easier said than done!)
Day 4 had us heading off to the Whitsundays, but a hiccup had us stranded at a little Town Near Serina due to a fatal head on car crash blocking the highway, it took them 6 hours to clear the wreck and investigate the cause with a team flown in from Brisbane. It gave the children a great lesson in patience as they played and we chatted with other stranded travellers.
We arrived at our Caravan resort at Airlie Beach sometime after 10.00pm and just set up the basics before falling in to our beds. It’s was a long day!
This sign on the toilet door was a warning of things to come.
We woke to a lovely clean and well-kept resort, and the kids set off to explore. Big 4 Parks are well known for the facilities they provide to families and this park The Whitsunday Big 4 Adventure resort is no different, great toilets, showers, pool area (although no real toddler water area) Jumping pillow, huge play fort, basket ball court, and putt putt golf course. The sites are large and well kept and the staff friendly and happy to help.
We headed off to explore over the next few days, Heading to Bowen to the Big Mango and the beaches, to Shute Harbor, Airlie Beach several times, and to Cedar Creek Falls to see the Rock formation that provides a beautiful water fall if the creek its self in running, sadly due to lack of rain I was only able to take these beautiful shots of the still water and surrounds.
Our first week has a been a real week of unwinding and relaxing and we can’t wait to see what the new locations and weeks bring.
Be safe and remember life is precious, Nicki
